The Financial Services
Office is working with the Information Warehouse Office and
the Arizona Health Sciences Center to offer campus-wide UIS
training. UIS/FRS classes will be available in late March
and UIS/SIS and UIS/PSOS classes will be available later in
the Spring. An announcement will be sent to the UIS and FRS
listservs when the class dates have been confirmed. Please
note that the FRS Reports, Reconciliations and Corrections class listed below will be
a prerequisite to the FRS/UIS training.
In addition, FRS training classes have been restructured as
follows: FRS Accounting Structures has been redesigned and
is a prerequisite for two new classes: FRS Expenditure
Policy and FRS Reports, Reconciliations and Corrections.
FRS Accounting Structures will focus on:
Basic accounting terminology
What debits and credits are and how they relate to FRS
FRS account numbering
Sources of funding
FRS accounting screens
Basic FRS account
management requirements
FRS Expenditure Policy is recommended for people who will be processing or approving departmental transactions in accordance with UA administrative UA Business Community. In this class you will:
Learn how to process transactions by determining allowability, the appropriate account, object code and document to use
Learn the how, what,
whys and where's of the Check Request
FRS Reports, Reconciliations and Corrections is recommended for people who will be working with FRS reports and/or will be reconciling and correcting their accounts. This class will replace FRS Reconciliation and SL Report Interpretation classes which have been discontinued. In this class you will:
Learn how to read FRS Reports FBM090, Account Statements and FBMO91, Report of Transactions for a subsidiary ledger account
Learn how to reconcile your records to FRS reports and screens
Learn when to complete a Request for Accounting Assistance (RFAA) or Payroll Expense Transfer (PET)
Learn how to complete an RFAA.
Note: This class is a prerequisite for FRS/UIS training.
